Mindfulness and CBT Pregnancy Course

This course serves as a pregnancy focussed introduction to CBT and mindfulness and will support you in acquiring skills to improve your health across all areas.
The groups also serve as an opportunity to meet like-minded local Mums in an inclusive and empathic setting. Within these groups we focus upon techniques to boost low mood, improve sleep and reduce vulnerability to post-natal depression. You will also learn tools to access the parasympathetic nervous system - to better soothe and connect with both yourself and your baby, vital in a time of stress and overwhelm for many.
Included in this approach is also an emphasis on forming 'rainy day' plans, formulating strategies for if, or when, things feel less manageable - the opportunity to 'weave your parachute before you need it'. We live in such a busy, stimulated and digital world that the simple act of meditating is radical and its benefits are potent. There is no pressure to share anything personal in the group and you can participate quietly if that’s your preference.
Included in the course is;
Delicious refreshments . Materials for reading and reflection between sessions. Guided meditations; sitting, lying, walking and gentle movement practices
The opportunity to bring issues of personal relevance for discussion in a safe and empathic group environment. A personalised 'blueprint' plan identifying personalised strategies and tools to take forward including 'rainy day planning'.
Bursary places available to low income families.
Individuals who are unsure can access the 1st session for a one-off payment of £25 - however please be aware this does not include reading and reflection materials and the full balance will be due before registration on the course.
